Session Abstract:
This session will explain and demonstrate how to get external data from an RS-232 device (like a scale) into an RPG application. A wedge is used to read the data from an RS-232 device and incorporate that information into an RPG program. The wedge is a piece of hardware that receives and manipulates data that is sent to the 5250 display. The wedge can also be used to capture bar-codes information too.
