Session Abstract:
IBM i systems are invariably the backbone of an IT infrastructure that encompasses a plethora of hardware. Ensuring data security on all types of hardware and in transit, as well as putting into place the processes necessary to protect information stored both electronically and in paper, is essential to guarding against devastating data theft or accidental loss. This session will discuss how companies using IBM System i can secure the confidential data entrusted to them and thereby automatically become compliant with any current or future security mandate, regulation or law that may affect the company.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss the differences between being compliant with a security mandate or regulation and actually being secure.
  2. Talk about the particular issues that need to be addressed to achieve data security on the IBM i as well as other hardware in the corporate IT environment.
  3. Introduce methods for achieving data security by protecting information at rest and in motion.

Audience:
IT managers and above.
